Margaret and Joe Finnegan with Kathleen HurleyJoe and Margaret Finnegan, owner/innkeepers of St. Francis Inn for over three decades, recently added Casa de Suenos Bed & Breakfast to their numerous lodging properties in the St. Augustine area. Like St. Francis Inn, Casa de Suenos is a historic building which offers modern comforts and amenities amidst the reminders of days gone by. The Casa is located just 5 blocks from St. Francis Inn, on the corner of Saragossa and Cordova Streets in the heart of the Old City.

“It was a natural choice for us to purchase Casa de Suenos,” said Joe Finnegan, “And we look forward to the opportunity to further enhance the excellent reputation which Kathleen Hurley created for Casa during the last 14 years.”

The Finnegans are converting the former gift shop and owner’s quarters into two new guest rooms, so Casa de Suenos will have a total of seven guest rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Nothing is boiler-plate about these comfortable rooms. Each has its own personality; several have whirlpool tubs and private balconies. One first floor room is ADA compliant with a private ramp entrance, an oversized shower and grab rails throughout the bathroom.

A hearty breakfast buffet is one of many free guest amenities. Guests also enjoy Evening Social hour with complimentary appetizer and beverages, Evening Dessert, an Afternoon at the Beach, and other “freebies.” The Bed & Breakfast has its own private guest parking area adjacent to the building, which is a rare feature for an in-town property, and one greatly appreciated by the guests. Specials and Packages are offered throughout the year, adding great value and fun extras to a stay at Casa de Suenos.

The Finnegans’ additional vacation choices include St. Francis Inn with 17 rooms and suites; five varying options on Anastasia Island, called Our Beach Lodgings, and a condominium overlooking Camache Harbor marina and the Intracoastal Waterway, called Harbor 26.
